Finally to the highest peak in Japan. The highest peak of Mt. Fuji, Kengamine, is 3,776m above sea level. At this altitude, the air becomes thin, and we must be careful about altitude sickness, which is the biggest difficulty in climbing Mt. Fuji. Even in summer, the temperature near the summit is low, making it easy to get sick. This time, we will climb Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. We have felt the thinness of the air around 2,500m so far. Mt. Fuji is a mountain that far exceeds its altitude, so I am most worried about altitude sickness. If I had altitude sickness, I decided to discuss and challenge myself to go down the mountain without overdoing it. The opening period of Mt. Fuji is short. Some mountain lodges close at the end of August. Many climbers climb to the top of such a world heritage mountain, the highest mountain in Japan, and the 100 famous mountains in Japan. When it came to that, I was worried that it would be crowded and I couldn't climb at my own pace. However, this time, I learned that the route is relatively free, although it is a little detour to the top of the mountain, and decided to climb Mt. Fuji. The route to climb this time starts at Fujinomiyaguchi on the Shizuoka side. Since private cars are restricted during the season, change to the shuttle bus at Mizugatsuka Park at the foot of the mountain. It takes about 30 minutes by bus to reach the 5th station of Fujinomiyaguchi, so take a break for acclimatization. Climbing has finally started. The start will be on the Fujinomiya route, but we will traverse to move to the Gotemba route from the 6th station. This route is named "Prince Route" because it was used for climbing Mt. Fuji when His Majesty the Emperor (Naruhito Imagami) was the Crown Prince. It traverses from the 6th station of the Fujinomiya route to the 6th station of the Gotemba route, so I think it is a good route for acclimatization. However, due to lateral movement, it will be a detour, so a day trip may be difficult unless you have good legs. We decided to stay at "Warajikan" in Gotemba Route Shichigo Shiroku. Waraji-kan is a small mountain lodge, but everyone was very kind. When we arrived at the hut, we had a headache, so we measured the oxygen concentration in our body and took care of the climbers. In addition, the sleeping space was relatively spacious, and I was concerned about where men and women could sleep. I think it's a very heartwarming mountain lodge. The next morning, it's finally time to attack the mountaintop. However, the strong winds from yesterday have continued. For the time being, the forecast is fine. The climbing index is all A. I decided to aim for the summit with caution. The climate of Mt. Fuji changes rapidly. I thought it would be difficult to climb in fine weather. After all it will be covered with clouds on the way. The most painful thing about this was that I couldn't see the summit. I didn't know how far I should climb, and I felt like I was climbing a mountain endlessly. The strong winds and thin air made me very weak. The unseen climb gave me a feeling of withdrawal. However, I climbed while saying "Let's do our best". This feeling will be a source of good luck when you reach the top of the mountain. Asama Taisha Okumiya finally arrived. I am visiting the god of Mt. Fuji. Kengamine, the highest point, gave up because of the strong wind. The feeling of being at the top of Mt. Fuji that I had been looking at. I'm really glad I was able to climb. It was a strong wind to climb Mt. Fuji this time, but I think it was a blessed climb. I think it will be an unforgettable memory for the rest of my life.
