Pressure & Density Altitude
You must be able to figure pressure and density altitude in order to figure out your in ground effect and out of ground effect hover ceilings. Remember that pressure altitude will be shown on the altimeter when you put 29.92 in the kollsman window. Low pressure is bad for performance and high pressure is good for performance. Always subtract the given barometric pressure from 29.92. Put the larger number on top. Then drop the decimal and add a zero. If the given barometric pressure was a lower than standard, add the resulting number to the elevation. If the given barometric pressure was higher than standard, subtract the resulting number from the elevation.
