Balade touristique à vélo dans le Nord : Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, terril Rieulay, forêt de Marchiennes

Follow us by bike to the North for a scenic nature tour, to Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, the Rieulay slag heap, and the Marchiennes forest. We start in Marchiennes, following the Scarpe Plain greenway, arriving in the Marchiennes national forest. Then we head back in the opposite direction, towards Rieulay, to discover the Argales slag heap and ponds, a slag heap converted into a leisure center. Finally, we return to the greenway, following the Scarpe canal, to reach Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. Along the way, we come across the Saint Amand-les-Eaux tourist train (Scarpe Steam Railway). We visit the town of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, known among spa visitors for its thermal baths. We explore the Grand Place, where the alderman's office and the abbey tower of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux stand, remains of the former abbey. Finally, we end with a detour to the forest of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, also known as the Raismes-Saint-Amand-Wallers national forest. Watch the video.
