VAE Tourisme : Balade pur plaisir boucle Olhain-Béthune-Lens sur l'EuroVelo 5 et les Canaux !

Here we are on the EuroVelo 5 (Via Romea Francigena)! For this mountain bike touring loop, we've taken out our electric bikes (e-bikes) for an adventure, without a timer, in the Pas-de-Calais region. Perfect for epicureans who just want to enjoy themselves! We'll take you from Fresnicourt-le-Dolmen to Lens, then to Béthune, to discover the slag heaps, the canals, and the famous Electricians' City of Bruay-la-Buissière. It's all about the joy of cycling! On the program for this 85km electric bike loop: Departure from Fresnicourt-le-Dolmen, heading towards Lens, the Mining Basin. Along the way, we'll pass by the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Necropolis in Ablain-Saint-Nazaire and the Canadian Vimy Memorial. In Lens, we discover the new section of EuroVelo 5, which passes through Loos-en-Gohelle and Vendin-le-Vieil. We take the opportunity to stop at the foot of the impressive Loos-en-Gohelle 11-19 slag heaps, the largest slag heaps in Europe. After a picnic break, we return to the Canal d'Aire and head towards Béthune. We take advantage of the Sunday calm to explore the town by bike, particularly to see its Belfry, Town Hall, and Grand Place, all absolutely incredible and with their typical architecture typical of the Grand Places of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. We return to EuroVelo 5 in Béthune, pass through the Annezin Marshes, and continue to Bruay-la-Buissière, passing the Cité des Électriciens and the old Bruay-en-Artois train station. Leaving Bruay, we continue along the Eurovélo 5, offering a view of the Haillicourt Slag Heap, on which vines grow, and then of the Haillicourt Twin Slag Heaps, the "Slag Heaps of the Country Apart".
