Le Pas de Calais à vélo | AIRE SUR LA LYS et ses environs

When Amandine starts planning a route, we never actually do what was originally intended. Proof of this is happening again today: we were supposed to do a training ride along a canal, but instead, we're going on a scenic hike in the Lys region. We grab our e-bikes and set off on a 50km route in and around Aire-sur-la-Lys. We start from the Saint-Venant marina and begin along the banks of the Lys, heading towards Aire-sur-la-Lys for a gentle ride along the water's edge and through charming towns. We even take a little trip back in time along the way. The route takes us to Moulin-le-Comte, passing through various villages like Thiennes (cheers to Etienne!), Wittes (even though there are only two of us), and Haverskerque with its famous house with blue shutters and its red bridge. An ideal route for discovering the area: Saint-Venant, Aire-sur-la-Lys, the Lys Canal, the Aire Canal, the Ballastières Park, and the surrounding villages. The paths are accessible by hybrid bike, gravel bike, mountain bike, you can even do it on foot or let yourself be guided by the Lys River in a canoe or kayak!
