171 'Slieve Gullion' arrives in Dublin & 85 'Merlin' departs to Whitehead - 17th & 18th January 2025

On the morning of Friday the 17th of January 2025, recently restored S Class steam locomotive number 171 'Slieve Gullion' make its first appearance in Dublin un over two decades!, it was transported from the Whitehead RPSI Base - Irish Rail's Inchicore Works to undergo running in trails after receiving a full restoration. The next day, Saturday the 18th of January 2025, V Class steam locomotive number 85 'Merlin' was transported back to Whitehead after being out of service since July 2023, due to its boiler certificate being expired, it will receive a full restoration over the coming years. We also see 85 'Merlin' at various points on its trip back North on the truck. Reid Freight were the company who hauled 171 & 85 on the truck. Please feel free to comment, like & subscribe.
