First bareback session - Mia, 3 year old mare

Here is a video with Tom getting on Mia. She is a 3 year old mare he has in training. Her owner got her as a yearling and she is from Colville Washington reservation. The owner has spent a lot of time getting her used to domestic life. She is a very smart mare. She picks up on things quickly. The second day she was with us, Tom was able to sit on her. She is the type of horse you could move her on and miss a lot of steps. She is willing but easily stimulated. Getting her used to movement and noise is something we are all doing to help her along. Cleaning her pen, putting on her flymask and interacting with her during each day is important in getting her moving forward. Horses that have been in the wild have a internal survival instinct. So it is important they realize it is okay to move around and on them. I have been getting a lot of video together on the 2 horses in training. There is a lot of good information and trying to get it organized is a process. 💕🏇
