WC on CNW Ore Lines
I edited this one a while back, but somehow it never got uploaded. In 1997 the WC acquired the former CNW lines in the upper peninsula allowing the abandonment of the former DSS&A through Marquette to Munising. All of the general freight for the Ishpeming cluster of lines came up from Green Bay/Escanaba instead. WC also assumed operation of the former CNW ore trains from Empire Mine to the dock at Escanaba. This situation only lasted a few years until WC was sold to the CN.
