Gig Work Is Killing My Prius

Day 12 of trying to make $10,000 in 28 days using Amazon Flex, Walmart Spark, and whatever gig apps pay. Today started at 3:13 AM with a $153 Amazon Flex route that looked good on paper… until I realized the first stop was 30 miles away and the entire route was spread out like crazy. After finishing one of the worst Flex routes of the challenge, the Prius threw the same check engine code from my last $5,000 challenge. Instead of grinding Walmart Spark like a normal day, I ended up at the junkyard pulling sensors off another Prius, cleaning them up, installing them, and hoping this car keeps surviving the challenge. In this video, I show the full day: the rough Amazon Flex route, the mileage, the check engine light, the junkyard parts run, the repair attempt, and the final numbers after gas and parts. Day 12 Results: • Total Earned: $153.00 • Miles Driven: 159 miles • Gas Cost: $15.47 • Junkyard Sensors: $22.35 • Brake Clean: $8.00 • Challenge Total So Far: $5,382.04 • Goal: $10,000 in 28 days • Progress: About 54% complete This is the side of gig work people do not always talk about. You can make money with Amazon Flex and Walmart Spark, but when your car starts throwing codes, the real cost of delivery apps starts to show.
