Restoring a worn & rusty thread on a motor armature shaft. Part 1 - turning & welding & turning...

First time for me doing this kind of repair. A fairly large motor armature, quite long, so sticking a long way out of the chuck, needing support from either a centre in the tailstock or a fixed steady. I used both methods here. The welding was done with just a basic MIG welder, turning the shaft by rolling it along the bench.
