Hiking Grand Balcon Nord & Aiguille du Midi //Chamonix Day 1

Chamonix is a picturesque town in the French Alps, at the base of Mont Blanc and a world base for outdoor sports like climbing, trail running, mountaineering, paragliding and everything else. It is a paradise for outdoor lovers and a place I've been looking forward to visiting for many years. This first day was a casual 12 miles and 4,500ft of vert and followed the Grand Balcon Nord hike which starts by taking the Montenvers - Mer de Glace Train and then follows a trail back to the Plan de I'Aiguliie where I decided to take the tram to the top of the Aiguille du Midi. I also added a little side quest and got most of the way up the Aiguille de I'M on my way and scrambled around this area view hunting for a while. This was the perfect first day in Chamonix and I can't think of a better way to see the area if you only have a single day. Make sure you buy a multipass which gives access to all the lifts and trains in the area. I decided to skip the Tour De Mont Blanc and use Chamonix as my home base on this trip and it turned out to be the best decision ever and allowed me to see the best areas the Frence alps have to offer and also allow me total flexibility in my plans.
