This is one of the most popular trails around Chamonix where you traverse the Grand Balcon Nord between Montenvers and the Plan de l'Aiguille. The highlights are the Montenvers train and train station, the Mer de Glace ice cave, the Refuge Plan de l'Aiguille and Lac Bleu. There are many ways to reach the Grand Balcon Nord. The version we present here uses both the Montenvers train and the Aiguille du Midi cable car to get up and down the mountain. You could also climb up to Montenvers from Chamonix: https://www.chamonix360.com/trails/ch... The trails are family friendly and there are possibilities to eat and drink at Montenvers, the Refuge Plan de l'Aiguille and the Buvette at the cable car station. Dogs are allowed on the Grand Balcon Nord but the Aiguille du Midi Cable Car does not allow them onboard.
