One of the highlights of the papal visit to Białystok was an ecumenical meeting at the Church of St. Nicholas. John Paul II addressed the faithful of the Orthodox Church with words full of respect and brotherly kindness. He recalled that Christians of the East and West are called to build unity and bear common witness to Christ. It was here that the memorable words about "sister Churches" were uttered. We are publishing an archival recording of this historic event on the 35th anniversary of the pilgrimage.
