🏠 Home – Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros There’s something funny about a song called Home when you’re standing on a stage in front of a crowd hoping you remember all the words. For this performance, I got to sing Edward’s part in the duet. As a middle-aged woman singing the role of a bearded indie-folk frontman, I decided not to let minor details stand in the way of my rock star dreams. This song is pure happiness wrapped in a sing-along, and it’s nearly impossible not to smile while performing it. The audience was into it, the band sounded great. One of the things I love about School of Rock is getting the chance to step into songs and roles I never would have imagined singing. Sometimes that means stretching my vocal range. Sometimes that means becoming Edward Sharpe for four minutes. Either way, I’m having a blast.
