Sketching Time! ✨ Ballpoint Pens For Ink & Wash ✨ Pentel and Caran D'ache Waterbrushes

Grab your favourite supplies and draw with me/study with me for a bit! Did you know ballpoint pen is waterproof? In this sketchbook session I'm sketching in ballpoint pen, and then adding washes of watercolour on top as a variation on ink and wash. Its a sketching method I've been enjoying quite a bit in recent months. For this sketchbook page I'm drawing secretary birds. I also use only water brushes for the watercolour this time, comparing the Pentel water brush and Caran D'Ache water brush. Bear in mind that ballpoint pens are typically NOT archival and can possibly either fade or spread to the other side of the page over long periods of time. Personally I don't use this technique for finished drawings or for sketches I want to preserve for a long time, just for sketchbook fun.
