I ride from Volksrust to Piet Retief, in Mpumalanga, in South Africa. After a lovely sunny morning and a roadside lunch, I see behind me a huge storm appearing. All the afternoon turns into an insane race against a storm that keeps on getting bigger and bigger. I am briefly caught in a hailstorm, but I somehow manage to quickly escape from it. I arrive in Piet Retief with the impression that I somehow managed to escape from the apocalypse.
