AMCU members stage sit-in at Gold One Mine, deny hostage claims
Labour union AMCU says its members staged a sit-in underground at the Gold One mine in the East Rand and refutes claims that workers are being held hostage. Earlier reports said over 500 workers have been held hostage underground at the mine. AMCU general secretary Jeff Mphahlele says workers went underground on Sunday night for their shift, and did not return when their shift ended this morning.
