Change Is Not New to Our Field
Sharon Burton reflects on a 30-year career in technical communication that began unexpectedly while she was a graduate student and single mother. Today, she balances client work with teaching engineering students at the University of California, Riverside and recently edited the collaborative book Women in Technical Communication: From Typewriters to Touchscreens. In this conversation, Sharon explains why the history of technical communication is a history of constant change and why today's AI revolution is simply the latest chapter in a profession built on adaptation.
