De-Malled Mall Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township NJ | Now Sits has a Place That Time Forget |

Shore Mall opened in 1968 has SearsTown with Sears, Pantry Pride, and Grant City. In the 1970s, it was enclosed and expanded, and they added Steinbach, a time capsule was buried in front of it & was said to be open in 2074, 100 years later. In 1976 JCPenney took over Grant City. The SearsTown became Shore Mall and Pantry Pride became Foodtown. Sears & JCPenney relocated to the newly opened Hamilton Mall, which would later be the enemy of this mall. In the 1980s, JCPenney became Clover, Sears became Boscov’s & Foodtown became Circuit City, the mall was remodeled around this time to the color scheme that remains today. In 1995 Steinbach became Value City. In 1998 Clover became Burlington. In 2004 Circuit City Closed, & became K&G fashion superstore in 2006 until 2012, when it became Spirit Halloween, the location is now a permanent flagship store location, and is mostly preserved from K&G, but has some Circuit City iconic on the outside. Value City closed in 2008, De-Malled took place in 2013. Golden Corral opened in 2010 & Closed a couple years later, it was on the site of an old Dairy Queen. The Steinbach Half of the mall was demolished and they saved the time capsule, the tile is still back there, but is fenced off, they also had an outback steakhouse, and a general cinema theater, which still had a sign up, but I kind of missed it, those obviously both closed and the theater was demolished, and the Golden Corral was repurposed, Burlington closed that became Restaurant Depot, they also had a TGI Fridays that’s now a furniture shop, a hallway of the mall was expanded into by Boscov‘s, and when Burlington closed the little section left was blocked off. Everything is the same in the hallway, it has the same Skylights, Floor Tile, and ceiling & lights, The closed off section is the same, you can see a Former directory with a old Golden Corral ad & where a fountain or plants used to be, you can see the old mall entrance inside Boscov‘s, and it appears they expanded into some of the stores too, and you can kind of make out maybe a pharmacy, pretty awesome. 2024 Visit:    • Dying Plaza—Harbor Square Former Shore Mal...
