Stuttgart (D - BW) Die Glocken der Leonhardskirche

This video presents the bells h0 -d1 -e1 -fis1 -a1 of Leonhard Church in Stuttgart city. The bells from the local foundry are complemented by a big historic bell from Elbing/Elbląg. ➥ The oldest bell in Leonard Church [1] originally came from the Church of the Three Kings in Elbing/Elbląg. It was cast in 1729 by the Gdańsk bell founder Michael Wittwerck using a relatively light shaped design. After World War II, it could not be returned and found its way to the largely destroyed Leonard Church as a loaned bell. Following reconstruction, the peal was finally completed in 1954. The local Kurtz foundry cast the four smaller bells, which were placed in the upper belfry added after the war. Despite the staggered suspension, the peal is very well-balanced. The large bell located directly in front of the church is the dominant instrument due to its suspension in the lower belfry.
