Stories of Taos Pueblo
John Suazo has written a book, Stories of Taos Pueblo. In this video he shares some of the history and tales of the Pueblo; stories that have never been told. He is more popularly known as a world famous stone sculptor. Back in the 1970's, he began to tape record many of the tribes elders telling stories in their language, Tiwa, and preserving historical events. John gives outsiders an inside view of what it was like being raised in the Pueblo. . . . It was fun to make this video. John has been my friend for decades and he is one of the nicest people I know. Check out some of his stone carvings and visit him in his shop in the Pueblo. The shop where he was raised is small and cozy. I realize that my reflection is in a few scenes. Let's call it my cameo....
