A big box of wild mountain vegetables arrived from the countryside. Kogomi, koshiabura, tara no me, warabi, and bamboo shoots. The moment I opened the box, the scent of spring spread softly through the kitchen, and just like that, it became a day for cooking sansai. I made wild vegetable pasta, mixed the leftover greens into butter, turned koshiabura into fritters, and wrapped tara no me in spring rolls for a slightly special meal. Seasonal ingredients always seem to hurry me along a little.
