This is my first remix where I dive more into a mature film/series. On the surface it has fun, cute animation with a wide variety of styles and brilliant humour. Dig deeper however, you'll be surprised in how deep and thought provoking it really is. I was heavily inspired by the liminal visuals and decided to tap into uncanny valley with sampled Windows 95 sounds and time stretched samples from the soundtrack and even morphing vocal samples into unrecognisable sounds and glitchy effects. I decided to also play around with odd time signatures and metric modulation to really confuse the listener as it puts the listener in the same boat as the six humans trapped in the circus. Composed with samples from the show’s soundtrack, SFX and vocals; and also featuring samples from old Windows 95 computers and add glitchy effects from my hardware synthesisers. Special thanks to ‪@Epic-Golden‬ for helping isolate the sound fx and for helping with the arrangement. Also special thanks to ‪@GrooveboxerMusic‬ for helping isolate some of the vocal samples. NOW IN TERMS OF THE MUSIC THEORY SIDE: From - 0:19 to 1:42 is 12/4 but group in alternative bars of 5/8 and 7/8. (A reference to the number '57', the show keeps referencing) From - 1:42 to 2:28 is 4/4 and same with 4:22 to 5:04 From 2:28 to 3:20 is an additive time signatures 6/8 + 7/8 + 8/8 From 3:20 to 3:41 is 12/8 (a metric modulation of additive time signatures from before (e.g. 5 + 7), which the time signature switches back to when the string samples kick in. From 5:09 to 6:04 is 12/4 but the additive bars have been switched around because all of the samples have been reversed; so 7/8 and 5/8
