Last Minute Boat Projects Before We Set Sail to The Bahamas: Custom Furling Main Sail and More!

In this episode of Rigged to Ramble, we have a little fun doing some Florida things with Asheton's girls. From taking an airboat ride to a day out on the panga. Then we jump right back into boat work with last minute projects on our 46' sailboat. This is our last ditch effort to finish up projects before we head to The Bahamas for our Summer Charter Season. We raise our brand new mainsail on our custom built externally furling mast. Asheton converted a headsail furler to fit our mast with an aluminum fabricated gooseneck bracket that he designed and welded together. We then run the furling line and outhaul through a custom tunnel to the cockpit so it can be controlled from inside. We finish the job by installing a winch and cam cleats. Carly gets busy cleaning and organizing inside the boat as well as finishes a few small decorating projects including painting the countertop and bathtub in the head and sewing cushions and covers. We wrap it up with a few last minute things like installing a bow eye for a snubber, oiling our teak and covering the emergency tiller access. Next time we will be headed to The Bahamas!
