Join us today for a surprisingly cool hike on the edge of the Black Forest. The Schauinsland is Freiburg's local mountain. With a summit height of 1,284 meters and a starting elevation of around 300 meters, the tour promises plenty of elevation gain. The hike to the summit involves many narrow paths, some a bit rocky, some over roots, and the mountain's name is reflected in the scenery: we were regularly treated to beautiful views. Other highlights along the way include the Kybfelsen (Kyb Rock) and the Kybfelsensteig trail, as well as two other peaks (Brombergkopf and Schwarzkopf/Kybfelsenkopf).
