Floor Out Wall Down - Offgrid Irish Homestead
In this Episode myself and Cohen finish taking up the old concrete floor which was about 30mm thick and had no strength to it. We were told we could of put insulation on top of this floor and then concrete but I am so glad we choose to rip it up as the floor will now run at one level and flat from the front porch through to the Lounge / dinning room and then on into the Extension which will have the Kitchen and the utility. This should make the whole building feel a lot better and flow better. It will also stop us tripping up any steps when we have had a few to many to drink. I (Dan) then take down the door and part of the wall which divided the two rooms up so that we could get a micro digger in to the house to dig up the floors. Cohen was at school on this day doing his exams before going into TY next year TY stands for Transition Year. It is a unique, optional, one-year school program that bridges the Junior Cycle and the Senior Cycle in secondary schools, usually taken by students aged 15 or 16. Rather than focusing on state exams, TY aims to promote personal growth, maturity, and vocational development. I am trying to get him to become a YouTube whizz and edit our videos during TY year but he is more interested in Minecraft and Fortnite like most 15 year olds.
