(#98) Final Wall Work By The Team

A big push to complete wall repointing and window edges before the end of the the team's work on site. With a few days of work by the team, we continue with the interior and exterior walls of the extension. The outside walls are repointed with lime mortar. While the mortar layer on part of the interior walls is completed. New mortar edges for differenet openings are completed and a part of a corner of the house reshaped. There is also work on the concrete floors poured last week. While there is a lot of tidying up inside and outside as the team prepare to take their things off site. The house is near the Costa Brava and has magnificent views of the forest around it and the Mediterranean Sea. The house has many beautiful old features, including its stone walls, vaulted ceilings, ancient terracotta tiles and many quirky parts added over the centuries. For a lot of the time I am working on the house on my own as I try to turn it into a dream home in harmony with the nature and culture that surrounds it. But for bigger phases of work I am helped by a small team of local builders. The house is not in France or Italy and is not a Chateau or Cabin, but I watch and am inspired by channels that are. Especially Martijn Doolaard and Dan Preston's Escape to Rural France. I love Martijn's style, philosophy and cinematography and Dan's energy, humour and ambition. I'm trying to include some of these attributes in my videos.
