Coast and rainforest walks: Storm watching on Vancouver Island, part 2

After eight months in a new job on the other side of the continent, I'm back in my natural habitat, Vancouver Island. I've never been here quite this early, and really wanted to enjoy it in "storm watching" conditions. It's also quite a bit less expensive this time of year and much less crowded. This video is the second half of the trip, sorry for the long delay due to a needed tech upgrade. 00:00 - 01:03 - Day 3 Intro 01:04 - 05:55 - Incinerator Rock 05:56 - 17:25 - Ucluelet and the Wild Pacific Trail 17:26 - 19:43 - Dinner at Big Daddy's Fish Fry 19:44 - 20:43 - Day 4 Intro 20:44 - 26:59 - Rainforest Trail 27:00 - 28:55 - Lunch at Wildside Grill 28:56 - 31:58 - Back to Vancouver 31:59 - 33:43 - Seaplanes and closing title --------------------------------------------------- LOCATIONS: Pacific Rim National Park Reserve - This park includes the rain forest walk, Incinerator Rock and other places I visited. Park pass required for parking at most beaches and other areas outside of town! https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/paci... Wild Pacific Trail - Circles the cliffs and rocks outside Ucluelet. The area around the Amphitrite Lighthouse is considered one of the best for storm-watching. I caught it on a relatively mild low-key day. This area is not part of the Park Reserve and does not require a parks pass. https://wildpacifictrail.com Big Daddy's Fish Fry - Fish and Chips and other things in Tofino. Limited hours in winter. https://bigdaddysfishfry.ca Wildside Grill - Just outside of Tofino on the main road. A selection of burgers, salads, tacos, poutine, etc. https://wildsidegrill.com Tofitian - Cafe and bakery. Adjacent to the Wildside Grill in the same group of businesses. https://tofitian.com BC Ferries Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay: The "classic" route between Vancouver and Nanaimo which was more convenient to me than the commercial route leaving from Tsawassen. Queen of Oak Bay feels like an old friend at this point.
