Engine | Tower | Rescue and Special Operations Team. Our response area includes New Castle County, as well as parts of Delaware County, PA, and the City of Chester. 📍 Claymont Fire Company 3223 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware 19703 — On Tuesday, August 23, 2025 @ 12:28 Claymont Fire Company (Station 13) units were dispatched to 1315 Quincy Dr. to assist Brandywine Hundred (Station 11) with a residential structure fire. Engine 13-5 responded with 4 members; Tower 13 responded with 3 members. Prior to Station 13 units arrival, Talleyville 25 Captain 1 arrived on scene with fire showing from the Alpha/Delta corner of the residence. Engine 13-5 arrived as the first-due engine assignment, established its own water supply from the hydrant located at the intersection of Quincy Dr. and Carson Rd., and pulled a 300’ 1.75” handline to the front door for fire attack. Tower 13 arrived as the first-due special shortly after Engine 13-5. Both interior members made entry, locating a fire in the bedroom positioned on the Alpha/Delta corner. On scene, various crew members were receiving reports of victims trapped inside the residence. Tower 13 Operator, acting as the OV member, relayed a Side Charlie report to Command and initiated a VES. Just prior to initiating VES, he was receiving bystander reports of possible people still inside. While searching, Tower 13 Operator called Command asking for the last known location of any possible victims still inside. Command misinterpreted the transmission and believed Tower 13 Operator had located a victim, asking which side he was coming out from. Tower 13 Officer made efforts to locate Tower 13 Operator and, once locating him, clarified that no victim had been found and that the Operator was only inquiring about a possible last known location. Around the same time, Command received confirmation from exterior crews that all occupants were out of the residence. Once primary searches were complete, Tower 13 assisted with opening up and ventilation operations. In the end, the bulk of the fire was contained to a single bedroom, closet, with minor extension into the attic, and hallway. — 🎥 Incident Video and Training 7 cameras were utilized during this incident, allowing our membership to obtain valuable footage for recruitment and training.
