THE BEST SAND IVE SEEN AT PUERTO IN YEARS

Puerto Escondido has been changing a lot over the last few years, but this sandbar is something special. In this episode, I wake up early and head down to Zicatela to check the conditions — and honestly, it’s some of the best sand I’ve seen at Puerto in years. I also quickly tell the story of the sand at Puerto Escondido over the years, what happened with the jetty and the hurricane. The waves were lining up, the bank was working, and it felt like a reminder of how powerful and perfect this beach can be when the sand is in the right place. Puerto Escondido is one of the heaviest beach breaks in the world, and when the sand lines up like this, it completely changes the way the wave breaks.
