The screen lights up. The court is ready. And the music kicks in — bold, energetic, and full of excitement. The menu theme from Mario Power Tennis was never just background music to me. It was the sound of getting ready to compete. It had an energy to it that fits the Mario games so well and it got me hyped for the games to come. I always loved the Mario Tennis games and Mario Power Tennis is one of my favorites of all time. That Menu Theme was an introduction to this game and whenever I think of it, this theme is one of the first things that come to mind. I still remember playing this one with my brothers and having a great time playing with Wario and Waluigi who are my favorite characters ever in the Mario universe. And something that’s special of the Mario Tennis games is that Waluigi was born to be the partner of Wario in the Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64 and they’ve been inseparable ever since. With this 80s rock–inspired cover, I wanted to bring that feeling back — that rush of stepping onto the court, ready to give it your all and have some fun along the way. It’s my tribute to the classic era of gaming soundtracks and the big, energetic rock sound that always gets me fired up. I always wanted to make a cover from this game, and the timing was perfect with the release of Mario Tennis Fever, so it all worked out in the end. Whether you remember choosing your character, practicing your shots, or just hanging out on the menu screen because the music was that good… this one’s for you. Press Start. Let’s play and rock on! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Performed, produced, and arranged by: Consolous Composed by: Motoi Sakuraba ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▌GEAR ▐ Lead Guitar: PRS CE SE 24 Rhythm Guitar: PRS SE 245 Bass: Schecter Omen Extreme-4 Drums: Steven Slate Drums Platinum Camera: OnePlus12 Mixing Software: Cockos Reaper Video Software: Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2026 Audio Interface: Focusrite Scarlett Mono, Gen 4 Guitar Amp Plugin: Guitar Rig 5 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▌TIMESTAMPS ▐ 0:00 The Arena Awakens 0:24 The Rally Begins 1:00 Rise of the Champions 1:36 First Strike (Guitar Solo) 2:10 The Final Charge (Guitar Solo 2) 2:48 Victory Echoes #MarioTennis #MarioPowerTennis #VideoGameMusic #RetroGaming #GlamMetal #80sRock #GameCube #RockCover #Nintendo #Consolous
