Classic Swedish Potato Gratin | Janssons Frestelse

This Classic Swedish Potato Gratin is a must on a swedish christmas dinner. You have potato, caramelized onion, cream, and to top it off for the crispness is bread crumbs. The original recipe have anjovisfile in it. We don't like the taste of ansjovis so we don't add it. This dish is so delicious, I don't know why we only should eat it on the holidays? Let's break that rule :) Ingredients: 10 potatos 2 medium size yellow onion 5 tbsp butter 1.7 Cup ( 4 dl ) heavy cream bread crumbs until it covers the potatoes salt and pepper How to make: 1. Put the oven on for 435 F. 2. Peel and chop the potatoes and onion. 3. In a pan on low heat with 1/2 tbsp butter add the onions. 4. 8X12 inch baking pan start with pouring half of the potatoes. Sprinkle some salt and pepper than add the onions and finish with remaining potatoes. Sprinkle some salt and pepper again. Add the cream and bread crumbs. 5. Bake for 45 min on the lower rack. 6.
