Standards for Recovery Housing and Building Capacity in New Hampshire

This Peer Recovery Support Services Community of Practice session focuses on recovery housing standards and efforts to build recovery housing capacity in New Hampshire. This session provides an overview of the recovery housing landscape in New Hampshire, including the need for safe, high-quality recovery residences, the development of a state recovery housing list, and the role of standards, certification, consumer protections, and complaint processes. Discussion includes national recovery housing standards, the role of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, the New Hampshire Coalition of Recovery Residences, recovery residence levels, the social model of recovery, medication-assisted recovery in recovery housing, resident rights, good neighbor policies, recovery capital, and the importance of peer relationships, accountability, and community connection. This recording may be useful for recovery housing operators, peer recovery support workers, recovery community organizations, referral partners, treatment providers, policymakers, and others interested in strengthening recovery housing quality, capacity, and accountability in New Hampshire.
