Wie man alte Kachelöfen erneuert | SWR Handwerkskunst

Stefan Dehn is a master stove builder. In Leisel in the Hunsrück region, he renovates so-called Swiss tiled stoves. Even at over 100 years old, they are more efficient and produce fewer emissions than many new models. The master stove builder dismantles the stove into individual parts: splints, glues and retouches the timeless and heat-resistant material if necessary and equips them with a new and certified combustion chamber. The stoves are made of cast iron and ceramic on the outside and firebricks on the inside. The design is therefore suitable for high temperatures. The flue gases burn with low emissions at around 1000 degrees without overheating the room. The storage mass, which weighs around 500 kilograms, radiates heat continuously for hours, even when the flame has long been extinguished. In their old guise with a new interior, the radiant stoves once again provide cozy warmth, low emissions and economical.
