In this episode of the Ramayana, Ayodhya Kandam transitioning into Aaranya Kandam, Bharata journeys to Chitrakoota to bring Lord Rama back to Ayodhya. Misunderstanding Bharata's intentions, Lakshmana initially suspects that he has come with an army to wage war. However, Rama's unwavering faith in his brother proves true when Bharata falls at Rama's feet and pleads with him to return and rule Ayodhya. Bound by his father's promise, Rama refuses to return before completing his fourteen years of exile. As a symbol of Rama's rightful rule, Bharata receives Rama's sacred Padukas (sandals) and returns to Ayodhya, vowing to govern only as Rama's humble representative. The story then enters the Aaranya Kandam, where Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana continue their journey through the forests. They defeat the fearsome demon Viradha, fulfilling Rama's vow to protect sages and the righteous. Guided by Sage Agastya, they finally arrive at the sacred land of Panchavati, where Lakshmana builds a beautiful hermitage, marking the beginning of a new and significant chapter in the Ramayana.
