Welcome to Episode 1 of Ramayana – Bala Kandam, where the divine journey of Lord Rama begins. In this first episode, witness the glorious reign of King Dasharatha, the noble ruler of Ayodhya, whose kingdom flourished with peace, prosperity, and righteousness. Yet, the king longed for heirs to continue the royal lineage. To fulfill this sacred wish, the revered sage Rishyasringa performs the holy Putrakameshti Yagya, invoking divine blessings upon the kingdom. At the completion of the yagya, a sacred divine pudding (Payasam) is received and lovingly shared among the three queens. Soon after, Ayodhya is blessed with the birth of four divine princes — Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna. Their arrival fills the kingdom with joy, celebration, laughter, and devotion. The palace comes alive with happiness as King Dasharatha and the queens cherish the childhood of the four princes. This beautiful beginning of Bala Kandam marks the dawn of the divine story that would later teach the world the greatness of dharma.
