Surrey Hills Green Lanes | Row Lane & Pond Lane | V-Strom 650 on Street Tyres

Can a Suzuki V-Strom 650 with street tyres tackle the Surrey Hills green lanes? In this ride I head out to explore Row Lane and Pond Lane, two byways in the Surrey Hills that offered a surprising mix of terrain. We had a few camera issues right at the start (and a couple of impatient cars!), but once everything was sorted we got moving. Row Lane was a fun warm-up with a few larger rocks but nothing the V-Strom couldn’t deal with. Things became more interesting at Pond Lane, where the route starts as a normal tarmac road before turning into loose gravel and eventually deep, dry sand. The sandy section was easily the most technical part of the ride. With road tyres and the summer heat leaving the sand bone dry, traction disappeared almost completely. Thankfully we kept the bike upright and made it through! If you’re thinking about taking an adventure bike onto Surrey’s byways, hopefully this video gives you a realistic idea of what to expect. 👍 If you enjoyed the video, please leave a like and subscribe for more adventure bike rides, green lanes and scenic routes around the UK.
