北海道ツーリング2026　＃６　北海道最高峰 旭岳登山と、最も標高の高い場所にある中岳温泉に入る

June 25, 2026, Day 6 of my Hokkaido touring trip. The main event of this Hokkaido tour: climbing Mt. Asahidake. Instead of descending directly after reaching the summit, I circled around Mt. Mamiyadake, Nakadake Onsen, and Susoai-daira. Following the exact same route as my Hokkaido tour 33 years ago, I relived the excitement of that time. My physical strength will only decline from now on, but I want to go while I can, while my body is still able to move. Ultimately, I reached the summit in almost the same amount of time as I did in my younger days. This route is almost entirely above the treeline, and because Mt. Asahidake is a volcano, there is no vegetation obstructing the view, allowing for spectacular scenery from start to finish.
