I spent R316 on Chicken and turned it into 10 Days of Dinners | Home Economy on a Budget

If you've ever wondered how to make your grocery budget stretch further, this simple homemaking skill can make a huge difference. In today's grocery haul, I'm sharing one of my favourite home economy habits: buying whole chickens instead of pre-cut pieces. By shopping when my local supermarket marks down their meat, I bought **6 whole chickens for R316.14, cut them up myself, and turned them into enough chicken for 10 days of family dinners**. From just six chickens, I ended up with: • 12 chicken breasts • 12 thighs • 12 drumsticks • 12 wings • Homemade chicken stock from every carcass Nothing goes to waste. These portions will become meals like: 🍕 Homemade pizza 🥧 Chicken pies 🥘 Chicken à la King 🍗 Crispy chicken nuggets 🥣 Soups and stews made with homemade stock …and so much more. As a homemaker feeding a family of six on **R4000 per month**, I'm passionate about building a home economy through practical kitchen skills, intentional grocery shopping, and making the most of every rand. I hope this video inspires you to see that with a little planning and a few traditional homemaking skills, you can lower your grocery bill without sacrificing good food.
