New Programming Guides, Manuals and Product Recommendations at the HQ https://boyandascanner.com NEW Glow Knobs at https://shop.boyandascanner.com Shop Uniden with my BAAS Partner Link (supports the channel at no cost to you) - https://uniden.com/baas SDS100 Priority Scanning (step-by-step) What Priority does: When Priority is enabled, the SDS100 periodically checks any channels you’ve marked as Priority so you don’t miss important traffic. ​ 1) Mark a channel as Priority Put the channel in a Favorites List (recommended so you can edit it). ​ Go to that channel’s options and set Set Priority = On. ​ Repeat for any other “must-hear” channels (keep the list short for best results). ​ 2) Turn Priority mode on (or DND) Start scanning. ​ Use the shortcut Func + .no to cycle Priority modes (Off → Priority → DND) until you get the mode you want. Priority: checks priority channels even if it may interrupt. ​ DND (Do Not Disturb): checks priority in a less intrusive way (typically between transmissions). ​ 3) Fix “Priority Scan: No Channel” If you see “Priority Scan. No Channel”, Priority is enabled but you haven’t set any Priority channels (or they’re avoided/not being scanned). ​ Either (A) mark at least one channel as Priority (Step 1), or (B) turn Priority back Off with Func + .no until Off. ​ 4) Trunked systems note (P25/DMR) For trunked systems, Priority behavior is handled with the system option Priority ID Scan (and then marking IDs/talkgroups appropriately), and it does not apply to P25 One-Frequency systems. ​ 5) Best practices Use Priority for only a few truly critical channels/IDs so scanning stays fast and smooth. ​ Use Quick Keys/Avoids to control “what’s in the scan” and Priority for “what must break through.” ​
