Today I’m doing a beginner’s guide for the SDS100, covering key tips and tricks. First, volume and squelch: use the top knob—press and turn to adjust volume. For squelch, press the green function button, then the volume knob, and set it around two. Next, the hold keys—system, department, and channel. Press one to lock in, like Howard County Police Dispatch 2. Tap again to release. You can scroll through systems, departments, or channels using the knob. To skip a channel, press Avoid. Double-tap for permanent avoid. Restore it through Menu - Manage Favorites Lists. Press E to clear all avoids. For service types, hit Menu - Select Service Types.
