Cycling the world (Days 1624-1633) Chile: Araucaria, volcanoes, Jurassic Park, the Bolt Man of Chile

Finally we were leaving Argentina, but not before we headed up into the hills to ride through a mountainside full of Monkey Puzzle trees (Araucaria araucana). A tree that has survived from the Jurassic era. It grows just about anywhere, and we were awed at how it clung to the mountain tops. Rock formations also blew our minds, until finally we dropped into Chile, with dirt roads, lagoons and volcanos. We rode through a lava field from the 1700s, Tom's bike threatened to collapse on us, but the Bolt Man of Chile saved the day, we hope!
