I HATE installing these designer radiators!

Welcome back to the channel on today’s video. I’m gonna be installing a vertical designer radiator on this blank wall now I really hate installing these radiators as you have to be very measurement specific and depending on the wall that you’re attaching to there might not be enough strength in behind to take the weight so I’m gonna show you exactly how I’m gonna do this one. I’m sure there’s gonna be some complications in its way. I’ve been to this job before where you watched me first fixed the brickwork behind the walls for the hot and cold and underneath the bath we have the new pipework ready to connect onto. Because there are hidden pipes in the wall behind, we’re gonna have to be a little bit careful of where we’re drilling, but I’m gonna show you my method and where to measure from to transfer onto the wall and screw your fixings. Once the radiator is hung, we can then put some new radiator valves inside and connect up some new pipework through the wall connecting into the bath where the pipework is feeding the radiator. I’m using liquid thread locker for the valves as this gives the clean as finish possible having white tape hanging out the side of the valves I don’t think is the most professional way which is the reason why I like using the liquid thread locker from gripaloc. With the liquid thread locker you just need to make sure the threads are nice and clean and dry. It doesn’t work when you’re taking old tales out of a radiator with moisture but if done correctly then you can turn the water back onto the system within 5 to 10 minutes of it going off as it reacts on zero oxygen and seals rock hard. I put some ball valves underneath the bath to isolate the system so we don’t have to do any draining down on this video but when you do drain a system always make sure that you turn the power off to the boiler if it’s pressurised you don’t have to worry about shutting the water off if it’s not then obviously isolate the water that is feeding the heating system. The pipework is sleeved through the wall and we just connect up from eBay using some nice square bands. The easiest way to do these is pour your first 90 and measure the centre part of where you need to bend it measure back 70 mm and put that in the benders and you should have it perfect every single time. But all done we just have to fill the heating system up. Turn the boiler on and get a good heat test if you like today’s Plumbing video please give it a tropic comment down below.
