Soldering radiator pipes in walls and floors!

In today’s video customer has got me to remove two radiators for them so we’re gonna have to cut the pipework and cut it off underneath a box and we’re gonna be swapping out a chrome towel for a nice shiny black one and they have a designer radiator that they want put on this wall, but the pool isn’t finished. It’s still needs to be prepped And there is a hot and cold pipework to chase inside the wall that is feeding the kitchen sink. Before you do We the boiler as you don’t want the boiler to start running with no water or pressure inside of it cause that will damage components on the heating system. Wants to boil his isolated. You can put a hose pipe straight onto a drain point as in this case the system is a pressurised system so you don’t have to shut off any of the water feeding the boiler. With the system on drain go ahead and open up the radiator event upstairs and also the radiators are working on downstairs and that should drain out as much water as possible. The pipework feeding one of the radiators is in a tiled boxing underneath the towel rail that we’re gonna be replacing so using a multitool I cut straight through the grout lines and all the tiles just cracked and split it wasn’t something but I would like to happen but the customer also told me that the tiles in his bathroom are gonna be replaced. So using a Yorkshire capend fitting which is a pre-soldered filled inside the ridge I’m removing the pipework that feeds that radiator through the wall. When you’re cutting out pipework which has water in it when useful tip that I like doing is sticking a small hose down through the pipework with a wet Vac attached and that should get all the water out and it’s way from your soda point as possible so even if it is dripping back, you do have a little bit more time for that drip to get to you by the time that you soldered. Remove of the old chrome towel is nice and easy and replacing it with a new black one was just as good as the customer bought a straight swap so to make the radiator valves in I didn’t want to use tape as that would look rubbish with the black on black so I’ve gone ahead and used some liquid ptfe from a company called xpro I’ve used this stuff for a while fully trusted on heating systems. You just have to be quick when you’re tightening it in as it starts to set with zero oxygen. The removal of nuts and olives from the pipework was made light work using my olive cutter and I made the new valves in using jointing compound in my fluxuator. The designer radiator that the customer wants on this wall is better off hung and fitted wants the boys prepped so I’m just gonna first fix it by measuring where my pipework needs to be and I’ll drill them through the wall and connect onto the pipework feeding the old radiator at a later date so at this point, I’m just gonna cut some isolations in so I can relax and fill the heating system back up. Now removal of the hot and cold pipework that feeds to sink I’ve had to open up the floor to find a pipework and I found that there is three black pipes sat underneath the copper so using my heat shield. I’m able to slide that between a 2D, so the old fitting after cutting them and sucking out the water and then protecting the new pipework with an anti-corrosion tape. Once all the works done, it’s time to give it a test so turning on the cold water for the hot and cold pipework and also topping up depression and heating system and bleeding the radiators.
