Oz: Colder, windier, weather coming for Tas, Vic and the south-east
Showers continue along the eastern side of Australia today and showers heavier downpours forming in the NT and some parts of SA. High pressure is currently parked over Tassie but will slowly drift eastwards towards NZ this weekend. After the high has left - and before the next week moves eastwards - there will be a wintry, colder and windier south-west flow that will be most noticeable over Tasmania, Bass Strait and Victoria, but will also affect parts of SA, southern NSW and the A.C.T. For Tas in particular this means a prolonged spell of colder air, windier weather and heavy west coast rain and showers, while some snow is also possible at higher elevation areas around Tas and Vic. The westerly change will eventually replace the showery south to south-east flow in coastal NSW - so drier weather is coming back with sunnier skies. Apart from scattered/isolated showers around parts of Australia there are large dry skies in the forecast.
