17 Miles of pure Highland Magic (Skye Trail Day 5)

Day 5 was the biggest challenge of the Skye Trail so far—17 miles of rugged terrain from Sligachan to the tiny village of Elgol. The journey took us through the heart of the Cuillins, including a stop at the incredible Camasunary Bothy for some much-needed fuel. The "Bad Step" might be famous, but the narrow coastal path toward Elgol provided plenty of its own adrenaline! We finished the day with one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen over the islands of Rum and Canna. ⬅️ Previous Day: Portree to Sligachan (Day 4):    • They Actually Made It! -  Portree to Sliga...   ➡️ Next Day: The Ruins of Boreraig (Day 6):    • 17 miles? The Longest Day Yet | Skye Trail...   Key Moments: 00:00 - Leaving Sligachan 02:30 - Deep in the Cuillin Mountains 08:15 - Lunch at Camasunary Bothy 10:35 - The precarious coastal sea path 13:45 - Sunset at Elgol #SkyeTrail #Camasunary #Elgol #Cuillins #ScotlandHiking #WildCamping #Scotchmizzed #WalkingTheSkyeTrail #SkyeTrail2026 #ScottishHiking #HikingScotland #ScotlandTravel #IsleOfSkye #SkyeAdventure #NatureWalks #TrailWalking #OutdoorExploration #LandscapeLovers #HikingAdventures #ExploreScotland #TravelVlog #NatureLovers #Wanderlust #Travel2026 #ScotlandNature #MountainHiking #WalkingVlog #HikingTrails #ScenicWalks #Shorts #AdventureTravel #TravelTips #EcoTravel #BackpackingScotland #HikingCommunity #GetOutside
