The Best Places To Visit On The Isle Of Skye - That Avoid The Crowds!

In this video we give our top five places to visit on the Isle Of Skye. Unlike most lists you won't find the Fairy Pools, Old Man Of Storr or the Quiraing. That is simply because these places have now become so over crowded that they are no longer enjoyable to visit. So we tell you about 5 lesser known spots that still offer amazing landscapes and views. We spent a week on Skye during the May half term holidays. We were shocked at the amount of people on Skye, visitors from all over the world. Although it's nice to see lots of people enjoying this beautiful Scottish island it does present a serious issue. Skye does not have the infrastructure to cope with this amounts of people. This became apparent when we attempted to visit the Quiraing. The car park was a blood bath of people fighting for a spot. Cars had been abandon on verges, in ditches and in passing places. We quickly gave up but could not get down the single track road as it was completely grid locked. The drive over the Quiraing ended up taking a couple of hours and we didn't even make it out the car. We drove past the Storr and that was the same. We also spoke to some people who had been to the Fairy Pools, they told us to avoid them! So we decided to spend our week looking for some hidden gems free of the hordes of selfie seeking tourists. And happily we found some amazing places that were almost free of people. So we've put together out top five places to visit on the Isle of Skye that avoid the main tourist hot spots.
