This time, we'll explore the question of why people with borderline intelligence and developmental disorders can't be happy, combining philosophical and neuroscience perspectives to examine the issue from a social structure perspective. It's often said that "it's not a matter of individual effort, but of society's faults," but what exactly does "society's faults" mean? In this video, we trace the type of person that democracy and capitalism have envisioned, using the model of the "modern ego" (a rational individual uninfluenced by emotions) that modern society is premised on as a starting point. We then consider why the challenges faced by people with borderline intelligence and developmental disorders cannot be resolved simply by "trying hard enough" or "education." Furthermore, smartphone addiction, social media, short videos, and AI have made people increasingly susceptible to being influenced by emotions and stimuli. Will the premise of the rational individual continue to hold true? How will democracy and capitalism, the foundations of society, evolve in the future?
