From Isolation to Inspiration: Eryn's Journey of Change | King's Trust Awards 2025
Eryn, 23, from Gateshead, battled with severe anxiety and depression growing up, leaving her isolated for the majority of her teenage years. She struggled at school and left with one GSCE, despite being predicted high grades. This led to Eryn withdrawing from society and for two years, she had no interaction with anyone her own age. But everything changed when she found The King's Trust. After completing a Trust programme and an apprenticeship with Newcastle Building Society, Eryn didn’t just pass, she thrived — earning a distinction and gaining a maths qualification too. Now a permanent member of staff, Eryn now not only helps train and support new staff but is a huge part of their volunteering and social value activities. She’s not just back in the world — she’s leading in it. 👑 This is Eryn’s story. A 2025 King's Trust Awards Winner. 💬 Watch, share, and be inspired. ------------------------------------------- Looking for stories from inspiring young people?
