板谷峠のスイッチバックと東北本線の旧型客車#板谷峠

Itaya Pass was once known as a difficult section of the Ou Main Line. An old-style passenger car pulled by an EF71 locomotive passes through four switchback stations. Deep valleys, snow-covered snow sheds, and street vendors selling chikara mochi (rice cakes) at the pass... The railway scenery of the Showa era has been recreated using records and photographs from that time. 📖 Detailed travel log (with manuscript and photos) available here. 👉 https://note.com/ideal_holly666/n/na5... 📘 The note homepage summarizes travels across Japan by train and to remote islands. 👉 https://note.com/ideal_holly666 ―――――――――――― 🚆 Trip Overview ・Year of Photography/Ride: Early 1980s ・Section: Fukushima to Yonezawa (Ou Main Line, Crossing Itaya Pass) ・Train: Local Train 429 and Train 428 (Old Passenger Car, Pulled by EF71) ・Features: Continuous Switchbacks, Crossing Snowy Passes, Street-to-Street Mochi Sellers at the Pass 📌 Please share your memories of Itaya Pass and old passenger cars in the comments. ―――――――――――― 🎵 BGM credits are included in the video. ―――――――――――― #JNR #Ou Main Line #Itaya Pass #Switchback #Vintage Passenger Car #EF71 #Touge no Chikaramochi #Showa-era Railway #Train Journey #Train Scenery #Snowy Pass #Train Sound #Train Journey #Train Records #Yamagata Prefecture #Fukushima Prefecture
